My roommate recently told me that I was weird. She proceeded to tell me that she did not know anyone like me and couldn't even find a character on TV that I resembled (or that resembled me, whatever). I took this as one of the best compliments I have ever received because being (what she would say) unique is not something I strive for.
I expect compliments on my pictures, outer appearance, or work performance because I consciously try to do my best in those areas. I study, discover, and grow so I can physically and mentally present myself well in society. But I don't try to be anything or anyone in particular. I know this sounds so cheesy but I'm just...me. To be complimented for being who I am is one of the greatest things anyone can feel. I FEEL GREAT!!
Anyways, photographs from my visit to San Diego:

ATTENTION
So many of my actions are motivated by my need for attention. It gives me great joy to know that people care what I'm doing, that they miss me, and that they want to join me in my adventurous life. Lately, I have realized that my so-called need for attention swims deeper beneath my skin and into my heart: I just want to know that I'm loved.
Just like everyone else.
Just like everyone else.

untitled
New York City. The early 2000's. It was such a trip man.
Young professionals not knowing what the fuck we re doing. Drinkin, dancin.....gettin high
Haha.
Did you know that shit was illegal back then? We use to smoke in the bathrooms.
Haha.
In the winters we made love just to stay warm. In the summer we made love to....well, we just made love.
Haha.
The summers.....now they were all about the music. Thousands of people braved the humidity just crowd the city's parks. Hot, sweaty people. On top of each other. Just for the love of music, man. We didn't know what the fuck we were doing.
We aimlessly roamed the streets......roaming the streets all fucked up but too professional to show it. 'Where's the next bar? Oh, right there. and there. and there. after this let's check out this new place in the West Village I heard the music was good.' Dancin, drinkin.......gettin high. And working our asses of just to do so. It was a foolish time back then. We thought living in New York City it would make us masters of the universe.
But, as you already know....that didn't happen.
Haha.

Fuck Shit Up
My first month living in my own NYC apartment is coming to a close. October 2011 was a great one. Learning how to live with the just the basics and with new people, having so many friends visit, experiencing my first snowfall, and exploring new areas of brooklyn. I just wish I had a good group of friends......I still feel disconnected in that area.
Katie came to visit.
David and his girlfriend Jamie came to visit
But what I learned most....

Parallels
I recently got a gig as a photographer for the men's fashion blog: Urban Aesthetics. Although I have experience working with clients that aren't people I know, this is the first time working with someone who wants them for solely for fashion's sake. This shoot was also my first, and hopefully not last, in New York City. So, it's kinda special to me.
Ariel Zorrila, the author of Urban Aesthetics, parallels my life as of now. We are both at the beginning stages our careers, and we both posses talent, determination, and love for what we do. I know I will see him at fashion shows and other industry-related events in the future.
Thank you, God. It's because of You all of this is happening!
Here are some shots in the Meatpacking District and Chealsea Piers
